Biography

Richard Lewis is from Jackson Georgia and is a 1984 graduate of Piedmont Academy. He attended both Gordon College in Barnesville and Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. He started his career with the Department of Agriculture in 1990 as a Fuel Inspector in the Macon area. Later he served several years as the State Metrologist, during which time he received metrology training at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He now serves as Division Director of the Fuel and Measures Division. He is a member and past president of the Southern Weights and Measures Association. He is also a member of the Southeastern Metrology Assurance Program and the National Conference on Weights and Measures. He and his wife Angie live in Jackson, Georgia and have four children; Brannon, Walt, Lane and Morgan. They are members of Towaliga Baptist Church where Mr. Lewis serves on the Board of Deacons.Southern Weights and Measures Association.
