Biography
A native of San Jose CA, Dr Fredrick graduated with high honors from Santa Clara University and attended medical schoool at Baylor College of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude. After completing his residency in Ophthalmology at UCSF, he took a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmolgy at Childrens Hospital Boston. He has been on the full time faculty at UCSF and Dartmouth and had been at Stanford since 2007. HIs clinical focus is on pediatric cataracts and surgical mannagement of strabismus in children and adults. Medical education is an important component of his professional life, as he has been a founding memeber of SMS Educators for CARE. directs the residency training program in the Department of Ophthalmology, and serves on the steering committee for Stanford School of Medicine Teaching and Mentoring Academy. He also participates in international education, having served as a Voluntary Faculty member for ORBIS on over 15 missions in 8 countries.
