Biography
Dr. William Jackson most recently held the position of director of the Entrepreneurship Program at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg which was recognized as the "Emerging Entrepreneurship Program Award Winner" in the nation in 2013. In addition, Dr. Jackson was selected for the "Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year" in 2015 by the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). Prior to that position, Dr. Jackson held two endowed chair positions--the Dalton State College Foundation Endowed Chair in Management and the University of Texas Permian Basin Pinkie Roden Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship. He earned his doctorate in Strategic Management from Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis). Dr. Jackson is the current managing editor of the Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship and the executive director of the Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ASBE). He served on the executive board of USASBE for five years, lastly as the senior vice president of finance, and served in all officer roles, including twice as president for the ASBE. His primary research interests include entrepreneurial pedagogy, strategy and scalability. Dr. Jackson has over 100 referred articles in journals such as the Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Small Business Strategy, Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship and Academy of Entrepreneurship to name a few.
