Biography
Francesco Orabona received his PhD in University of Genoa. He was a Senior Research Scientist at Yahoo Research NY. Previously, he was at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, the University of Milan, and the IDIAP Research Institute.
Research Interest
Francesco Orabona focuses on a very simple but often ignored topic: How to make machine learning algorithms really automatic? How to remove the constant need for a human (PhD student?) to hand tune all the knobs of an algorithm till it finally works?
