Biography
Rob Patro ​is affiliated with Genomics​ Cluster. He earned his Ph.D degree from University of Maryland at College Park in 2012. He was a postdoctoral research associate at the Lane Center for Computational Biology, Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Patro joined the computer science department at Stony Brook University in 2014. Rob Patro was a recipient of ISMB travel fellowship (2013) and ISMB Student travel fellowship (2012). He won 1st Place in the DREAM 5 Challenge 1 in 2010. He was a reviewer of BMC Bioinformatics, Nucleic Acids Research, and ISMB in 2014. He was on the Poster Selection Committee of RECOMB in 2014. He has also been a reviewer of PLOS Computational Biology & PLOS One, Workshop for Algorithms in Bioinformatics & Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology, IEEE Visualization Conference, and SIGGRAPH.
Research Interest
Rob Patro's research lies in scalable algorithms for high-throughput genomic analysis, algorithms for inferring & comparing biological networks, and network Evolution & Systems Biology.
