Biography
Rogers started his career at the Trust Company of Georgia, later merged with SunBanks, Inc. of Florida in 1985 to form SunTrust Banks.[2] He was corporate executive vice president, and later chief operating officer.[1][7] He has been president since December 2008, CEO since June 2011, and chairman since January 2012, replacing James M. Wells, III.[1][3][5][6][7][8] As of June 30, 2017 the bank has total assets of $207 billion and total deposits of $160 billion.[9] In 2012, under his first year of tenure, profits jumped to US$1.96 billion, partly thanks to the sale of shares in the Coca-Cola Company.[10][11] Rogers serves as a member of the Federal Advisory Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.[12] In 2012, he earned US$2.83 million.[3]
