Biography
Dr. Zhi Sun received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. in 2011, under the guidance of Prof. Ian F. Akyildiz. He received the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University and the B.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), Beijing, China, in 2007 and 2004, respectively. Currently, Dr. Sun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, which he joined in August 2012. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Broadband Wireless Networking Laboratory at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. Dr. Sun has won the Best Paper Award in the 2010 IEEE Global Communications Conference (Globecom). He received the BWN researcher of the year award at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. He was also given the outstanding graduate award at Tsinghua University in 2007.
