Biography
Dr. Arnold Strashun, Director of Nuclear Medicine at Kings County Hospital and University Hospital since 1987, was appointed Radiology Residency Program Director in November 2000. Dr. Strashun also directs Radiology Research for the department, as well as the Radiology Quality Assurance program. Born in Houston, Texas, he attended University of Texas (BA '70), Baylor College of Medicine (MD '74), trained in Internal Medicine (ABIM '77), and Nuclear Medicine (Mt. Sinai, NYC, ABNM '79). His contributions include numerous scientific papers in nuclear cardiology and the neurosciences. He has served as Chairman of SUNY Downstate Centerwide Committee of the Faculty, President of the New York Academy of Medicine Nuclear Medicine Section, and is currently a Trustee of the Society of Nuclear Medicine. He serves as Chairman of Education and Training for the Society of Nuclear Medicine and is a member of the Executive Editorial Board of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He was again recognized by New York Magazine in 2001 as one of NYC's Best Physician.
