Christopher J. Calhoun

Biography

  Mr. Christopher J. Calhoun, also known as Chris, Co-Founded Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. (also called as MacroPore Biosurgery Inc.) in 1996 and served as its Managing Director since April 2, 2014 until July 1, 2014. Mr. Calhoun Co-founded Leonardo MD. He is the co-inventor on multiple US and International patents. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. from 1997 to April 2, 2014. He served as the President and Secretary at Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. from April 2002 to May 2004 and again from 1996 to 1998. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of Cytori Therapeutics Inc. until June 2004. He has various other US and International patents pending for medical devices and implant instrumentation. He was involved in research and management for the Plastic Surgery Bone Histology and Histometry Laboratory at the University of California, San Diego. Mr. Calhoun serves as the Chairman of the Board and a Board member of Leonardo MD. Mr. Calhoun served as Vice Chairman and Director at Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. since 1997 until July 1, 2014. He serves on the Board of Directors of Artes Medical. He had been a Advisory Board Director of Targazyme, Inc. since October 27th 2015. He had been a Member of Business Advisory Board of Targazyme, Inc. since June 2014 until October 27th 2015. He served on the Board of Directors of StemSource, Inc. He has been a Member of Executive Committee at Alliance for Regenerative Medicine since January 2013. Mr. Calhoun received a BA from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
