Brian C. Cornell

Biography

Mr. Brian C. Cornell has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Target Corporation since August 12, 2014. Mr. Cornell served as the Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo Americas Foods at Pepsico, Inc. from March 12, 2012 to July 30, 2014. Mr. Cornell served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Sam's Club (now Sam's West, Inc.) of Wal-Mart International since April 3, 2009 until January 31, 2012. He served as an Associate of Sam's West, Inc since February 1, 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Michaels Stores, Inc. from June 4, 2007 to April 2, 2009. He served as the Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Safeway Inc. from April 23, 2004 to June 1, 2007. He served as an Executive Officer of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. since January 31, 2012 and Executive Vice President until January 31, 2012. He has more than 30 years of experience at leading retail and global consumer product companies. He has been Independent Director of Yum! Brands, Inc. since September 18, 2015. He has been a Director of Target Corp. since 2014. He has been a Director of Centerplate, Inc since August 2010. He served as a Director of Polaris Industries Inc. from November 19, 2012 to July 23, 2015. He served as a Director of The Home Depot, Inc. from January 2008 to March 9, 2009 and OfficeMax Incorporated from December 10, 2004 to April 14, 2007. He serves on the Anderson School Board of Visitors. Mr. Cornell earned a BA degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1981 and attended Anderson School of Management.
