Biography
Barbara Stephens is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing. She completed a doctor of nursing practice, a post master’s degree in nursing education and a master’s degree with a focus on psychiatric/mental health nursing at Temple University. Dr. Stephens’s clinical practice change project included increasing knowledge of psychiatric/mental health disorders in children and adolescents in school nurses through continuing education in-services. Her work has helped to educate many professionals in a multitude of specialties. Dr. Stephens has published many articles in the field of Mental Health. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and has presented her work at the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses annual symposium and the annual National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practioners conference.
Research Interest
Her research Interests include Depression, Loss and Grief, Mental Health, Mental Health Services, Stress, Stress Management and Suicide.
