Biography
Mr. Hari N. Nair served as the Chief Operating Officer of Tenneco Inc. from July 2010 to January 6, 2015 and was responsible for its operations globally. In this role, Mr. Nair takes together all regions, supply chain management and manufacturing into one global organization, driving integration and synergies across all Tenneco's businesses. He has more than 25 years of service with Tenneco. Mr. Nair served as President of International group at Tenneco Inc. since March 7, 2007, where he was responsible for managing its business operations and capitalizing on growth opportunities in Europe, South America, India and Asia-Pacific. He served as Executive Vice President at Tenneco since June 2001. He served as Managing Director of Europe, South America and India operations at Tenneco Inc. from 2005 to March 7, 2007 and its Managing Director of Europe & South America from June 2001 to 2005. He led a turnaround of Tenneco's European business, significantly improving operational performance. He served as Executive Vice President of Europe, South America and India operations of Tenneco Inc. Mr. Nair served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of International at Tenneco, where he developed global alliances with Japanese partners. Prior to December 2000, he served as Vice President and Managing Director of Emerging Markets at Tenneco. He served as the Managing Director and General Manager for Tenneco South America and for Tenneco Asia, where he established many of its operations. He was responsible for all operations and development projects in Asia. He joined Tenneco in 1987 as Manager of Business Planning, focusing on its early international expansion projects. In 1989, he joined Case Corporation (at the time a Tenneco Inc. company) as Manager of Marketing and Business Development for the international business group and later served as its Manager of Finance and Operations. He returned to Tenneco in 1992 as Director of the total quality management system and subsequently served as its Director of International Business Development, where he led its entry into India with the establishment of a ride control joint venture in 1994. Prior to joining Tenneco, Mr. Nair served as a Senior Financial Analyst at General Motors Corporation focusing on European operations. He served as a Plant Manager for American Water Company. He has been an Independent Director of Owens-Illinois, Inc. since August 1, 2013. He serves as an Outside Director of Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd. He served as a Director of Tenneco Inc. since March 2009 and Renowned Auto Products Manufacturers Ltd. since March 16, 2006. Mr. Nair holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from Bradley University and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Notre Dame.
