Biography
He is the Director of the department’s Laboratory of Tree-Ring Science which has a well-respected international reputation for research, teaching, and service. In recent years, he and his students have appeared in television documentaries and news stories shown on CNN International, the History Channel, BBC Television, the Discovery Channel, the Investigation Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel, the Weather Channel, the National Geographic Channel, Court TV, and many local stations. He teaches Geography 131 and upper level courses in natural hazards, dendrochronology, global change, and climate change.
