Professor
Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences
Texas A and M University
United States of America
Biography
Dmitrii Makarov is professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and affiliated with the ICES Center for Computational Molecular Sciences. He earned his B.S. in physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and his Ph.D. in theoretical physics, from the Institute of Chemical Physics in Moscow, Russia
Research Interest
Research topics include protein translocation, single-molecule dynamics with application to unfolded proteins, biosensor design, and mechanical properties of proteins. His group is also involved in developing computational tools for mechanochemistry, a branch of chemistry where chemical reactivity is modulated by mechanical forces.
