Biography
oan Sanders joined the Texas A&M University faculty in 1999 after nearly ten years of experience working in the Accounting and Information Technology (IT) industries. She started teaching Management Information Systems courses in the Information and Operations Management Department and later moved into the role of MIS Coordinator for the Professional Program in Accounting. While in that role she has developed and currently teaches two graduate level courses: Business Application Modeling using Microsoft Excel and IT Audit, Security and Controls. She has also established the Global Immersion in Accounting program where she travels abroad with a group of students to enrich their business experience and expose them to new cultures. Outside of academia, she has applied her combination of practical and academic experience to a variety of training seminars and consulting engagements for corporations and professional organizations. An important aspect of her life is her family and community. Alongside her husband and five children, they manage volunteer activities at Holy Family Catholic Church, Little Dribbler’s Basketball Association, Project Safe Graduation and are involved with a variety of school organizations from elementary through college.
