Biography
I am thrilled to be returning to Maryland after a hiatus of two decades. Baltimore is a special place for a few reasons: My teaching career was launched at Towson State University (a.k.a. Towson University), it offered me opportunities to advance my education and it is where my two children were born. While my career includes both administrative and research jobs, teaching has been a common thread that has given me much joy and satisfaction. My research interests include determinants of success for health care and community governing boards; long-term care management; program and service evaluation; community health assessments; and effective pedagogy. I have been fortunate to work at several universities in different regions of the United States, and I have enjoyed teaching a widely diverse body of students. I am grateful to be back in Maryland and to be part of the University of Baltimore community, a place that feels like home.
