Biography
Professor Jones Havard is an expert in financial services regulation. Her scholarship examines the challenges surrounding the financial services industry in the changing regulatory climate. She teaches courses in the regulation of financial institutions, corporate and commercial law. Jones Havard joined the law faculty at the University of Baltimore in 2005. She began her academic career at the Beasley School of Law, Temple University, where she was a tenured member of the faculty. She has been a visiting professor at the Catholic University School of Law and the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen Scotland. As a practicing attorney, Jones Havard worked in the General Counsel's Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and was also a trial attorney in the Criminal Section of the Tax Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. After law school, she served as a law clerk for the Hon. A. Leon Higginbotham on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Professor Jones Havard earned her bachelor's degree from Bennett College with highest honors and the juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
