Dr. Beavis focuses on the clinically relevant, cost-effective diagnosis of infectious diseases. Her areas of expertise include the diagnosis of HIV, tuberculosis, and Clostridium difficileand the application of high throughput molecular methods to the diagnosis of sexually transmitted diseases. She has also implemented the laboratory diagnosis of rapid opt-out testing for HIV in a large public health system.
