Biography
Dr. Joseph L. Alcorn Jr has Graduated School from University of Texas at Dallas, Cell and Molecular Biology, Richardson, Texas, 1988. He has received his Postdoctoral fellowship in VUniversity of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Department of Biochemistry, Dallas, Texas, 1988-1990. Currently he is working as Associate Professor in The University of Texas Medical school.
Research Interest
1. Transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of pulmonary surfactant proteins in the lung and gastrointestinal tract. 2. The role of SP-A in modulating TLR4 in intestinal epithelium. 3. Interactions of surfactant proteins with environmental insults (RSV, particulate matter) 4. Genetic influences on pulmonary type II epithelial cell biology and surfactant function
