Biography
Dr. Marcia A. Barnes has Graduated School from Psychology from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, 1988. She has received her fellowship Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario, 1987-1990. Currently she is working as Adjunct Professor in The University of Texas Medical school.
Research Interest
Dr. Barnes researches academic skill development and learning disabilities in mathematics and reading comprehension in preschoolers, school-age children, and adolescents. She has a particular interest in combining academic and cognitive interventions to address the multi-dimensional nature of children’s learning difficulties. She also studies learning difficulties in children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as spina bifida and traumatic head injuries.
