Biography
Tania Elena Garmy, a native of Cali, Colombia, has a commitment to teach the Spanish language and its rich and varied culture. She has taught beginning, intermediate and advance levels of Spanish at the University of Tulsa since 1995. Before teaching Spanish at TU, Tania was the co-owner and Public Relations manager for the Back Bay Corporation. She was in charge of coordinating and promoting special events as well as developing marketing strategies for the above restaurant and catering company. Tania has also done freelance bilingual services such as translating, interpreting and editing personal, legal and financial documents. Tania has used her Spanish language and organizational background to create a Spanish club, Tertulia, at the University of Tulsa. One of her goals is for her students to achieve the highest possible proficiency in the Spanish language and to encourage in them a life long passion for the Spanish language and culture.
