Biography
n 1902, Shine brothers Sam and Harry saw the value in scrap metal recycling in Spencer, Iowa and formed Shine Bros. Corp. Almost forty years later, Sam Bernstein began to see the same opportunities in his own hometown and created Sioux City Compressed Steel Company. After four decades of individual success, the two family-run companies realized they could provide continued success and increased opportunities if they joined forces. TJN Enterprises, Inc. was formed in 1989 by Toby Shine, Norman Bernstein, and Jack Bernstein.
