Richard B. Emmitt

Biography

 Dr. Richard B. Emmitt, Ph.D., also known as Dick, serves as a Senior Advisor at InnovaHealth Partners. He also serves as a General Partner at The Vertical Group. Dr. Emmitt has over 40 years of health care industry investment experience including venture capital, investment research and investment banking and has invested in and served as a member of the board of directors at several of the most successful medical device companies. From 1977 to 1989, Dr. Emmitt served in various capacities at F. Eberstadt & Co. and Eberstadt Fleming. He serves as an Executive Director of Mimosa Medical, Inc. Dr. Emmitt has been a Director of Tornier, Inc. since July 2006 and American Medical Systems Holdings Inc. since 1998. He serves as Director of Monteris Medical, Inc. Dr. Emmitt has been an Independent Director and Member of Audit Committee of ev3 Inc., since June 2005. Dr. Emmitt serves as a Director of BioSurface Engineering Technologies, Inc.; Soft Tissue Regeneration, Inc.; BioSET Inc.; Incumed Inc.; C2M Medical, Inc.; Spondylogix; SURx Inc.; Velocimed Inc.; Tepha Inc.; ENTrigue Surgical, Inc. and Galil Medical Ltd. He served as a Director of Micro Therapeutics, Inc. since July 2001. Dr. Emmitt served as a Director of Axya Medical Inc., EndiCOR Medical, Inc., and St. Jude Medical, Cardiology Division, Inc. Mr. Emmitt served as a Director of Xomed Surgical Products, Inc. from April 1994 to November 1999; Merocel Corporation from December 1990 to 1994 and SciMed Life Systems, Inc. He served as Director of OsteoBiologics Inc. He served as a Director of Tornier N.V July 2006 to October 1, 2015. He served as Director of Wright Medical Group Inc. from 1999 to March 9, 2006; and Medtronic Xomed, Inc., April 1994. Dr. Emmitt served as a Director of Wright Medical Technology, Inc. He was recognized as one of the leading experts on the health care industry by Institutional Investor Magazine. Dr. Emmitt holds an M.B.A. from The Rutgers School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University. He received Ph.D. from University of Cambridge.
