Biography
Joshua Owens received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Utah State University in 2005, with minors in music and chemistry. He went on to receive his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Missouri State University in 2007. He has practiced primary care for the underserved in the community health center setting and for the Utah Department of Health. He has a strong interest in the management of chronic pain in the primary care setting. During the five years spent with the Health Clinics of Utah, in addition to his primary care duties, he cared for the majority of patients with chronic pain comorbid conditions. He is a member of the American Society of Pain Educators and received the Certified Pain Educator credential 2013. As an adjunct faculty with the University of Utah physician assistant program, he has acted as a preceptor for both clinical year family medicine rotations as well as in their didactic year Friday Clinic.
