Biography
Shari Albright is a graduate of Trinity University, she is able to give back to the university and the community that was so instrumental in shaping the educator that I am today. She bring to the role of Chair of the Department of Education a background in elementary and middle school teaching, elementary and high school leadership and educational non-profit leadership. Having served in the role as the CEO of the Asia Society's International Studies Schools Network in New York City, she was committed to fostering 21st century, global education for students that have traditionally been underserved in our communities. In San Antonio, I began that journey as the principal of the International School of the Americas, which was then used as a model for the Asia Society's national network. Through Trinity, she continue to work with the San Antonio community to bring quality education to our urban schools through producing high quality teachers willing to take on some of the most challenging teaching assignments, through the development of top school leaders to bring change and hope to persistently low performing school settings, through our program that produces well-trained school psychologists to support learning and teaching in our schools, or through my own work throughout the community with urban districts as well as city and state officials working to improve education.
