Biography
All students deserve opportunities to learn (OTL), however, students who have historically been marginalized rarely have true OTL. My focus is specifically on students with disabilities, and those with the most complex support needs. OTL means that instruction, standards, and assessment are aligned. Additionally, OTL occurs only when the instructors uses research and best practices. I model and promote inclusive practices that begin with universal design for learning (UDL) and foster self-directed learners. Ultimately, education is the foundation for a just and democratic society and thus, ensuring everyone has equitable access to information and opportunities is a basic civil right.
