Biography
As a sociologist it is important to demonstrate the relevance of one's place in society. A theme in all my teaching is to help students develop a "sociological imagination" which enables them to understand their personal experiences in a social context. I also want them to learn more about the types of problems they will face as they experience life in the 21st Century. To that end, I introduce students to ways of critically thinking about the world around them. I continually revise my courses and introduce new ones, and I help students explore social dynamics using a variety of media.
