Biography

 Dr. Beth Mileson is a Board Certified Toxicologist with over 20 years of experience in toxicology and risk assessment. Dr. Mileson routinely creates comprehensive risk assessments to assist companies with business decisions and to help achieve their regulatory needs. Specifically, she designs and conducts human health and ecological risk assessments to support product stewardship, registrations and certifications. She also constructs toxicology testing programs and testing strategies to support new and existing products. Furthermore, Dr. Mileson meets with federal and state officials and stakeholder groups to discuss and resolve various scientific issues. Dr. Mileson has organized and chaired a symposium on Cumulative Risk Assessment at the Society for Risk Analysis, served as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Reviews in Toxicology and has written numerous publications throughout her career. She is an active member of the Society of Toxicology, the Society for Neuroscience and the Society for Risk Analysis. Additionally, Dr. Mileson has served on several national and international expert panels in the areas of toxicology and risk assessment. Before joining Technology Sciences Group Inc. (TSG), Dr. Mileson was a Senior Scientist at the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Risk Science Institute, where she directed projects in collaboration with U.S. EPA to facilitate implementation of the Food Quality Protection Act. While at ILSI, she developed a framework for cumulative risk assessment, identified criteria to determine a common mechanism of toxicity for pesticides, and evaluated methods to identify and characterize developmental neurotoxicity. Prior to joining ILSI, Dr. Mileson was a Toxicologist in the Division of Air Quality, North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, where she evaluated and assessed the risk of air contaminants.    

Research Interest

 She has expertise in neurotoxicology and is highly knowledgeable in the design, implementation and evaluation of risk assessments for pesticides, chemicals and consumer products.She also constructs toxicology testing programs and testing strategies to support new and existing products.
