Biography

 Dr. Bob Stewart provides over 35 years of experience in the registration and compliance of chemical and biological products regulated by EPA, FDA, CPSC and USDA. As a regulatory manager with FMC Corporation, a major agricultural pesticide producer, he oversaw the registration of new active ingredients and defended the registrations of existing products. Dr. Stewart also supervised the insecticide discovery program for FMC and initiated the insect biochemistry program using mechanismbased assays to discover new pesticidal molecules and to direct new synthesis programs based on QSAR techniques. As Director of Regulatory Affairs at Ecogen, Inc., Dr. Stewart managed contract research programs to support registration, prepared registration applications for submission to EPA, and communicated with EPA during review. He successfully obtained numerous approvals for both Experimental Use Permits and registration of microbial pesticides. During this time, he was also a member of the National Agricultural Chemical Association where he served on the Registration Committee and authored the association’s response to EPA’s Endangered Species Program. While manager of the Regulatory Affairs Department of S.C. Johnson and Son, a major consumer products company, Dr. Stewart was responsible for a portfolio of over 300 pesticide registrations as well as a broad range of personal care products, including many Over-the-Counter drugs. He also filed Investigational New Drug Applications and supervised the company’s Good Manufacturing Practice auditors. Dr. Stewart served on S.C. Johnson’s Investigational Review Board, Animal Welfare Committee, Product Recall Committee and Corporate Regulatory Review Committee. As a Senior Regulatory Consultant at Technology Sciences Group Inc. (TSG), Dr. Stewart advises clients and supervises projects regarding pesticides, medical devices, food additives, animal health products, dietary supplements, Over-the-Counter pharmaceuticals and consumer products. Dr. Stewart received his undergraduate degree in Entomology from the University of Kansas and his Ph.D. from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, concentrating in pesticide toxicology and metabolism.
