Dr. Ian Van Trump

Biography

 Dr. Ian Van Trump is a microbiologist with a broad array of scientific and regulatory experience. He provides technical guidance regarding antimicrobial efficacy testing for industrial, home and personal care consumer products Dr. Van Trump assists in the design and interpretation of both standard guideline and non-standard studies assessing antimicrobial and microbial pesticide efficacy, environmental fate and transport, and biodegradation. He is experienced in testing guidelines prescribed by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP), ASTM International and other organizations; he is also familiar with current Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements. In addition, Dr. Van Trump assists in the strategic interpretation of study data and construction of waiver arguments under various regulatory structures such as the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation. Furthermore, Dr. Van Trump serves as a technical resource for product development by providing pre-market environmental risk evaluations. He is familiar with many standard studies designed to assess the migration of chemical constituents from consumer articles. Before joining Technology Sciences Group Inc. (TSG), Dr. Van Trump was a Microbiologist at The Dow Chemical Company, where he served as an environmental chemistry consultant and performed/oversaw testing designed to facilitate product stewardship and compliance with various regulatory agencies and registration structures. While at The Dow Chemical Company, Dr. Van Trump produced technical documents for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and led biodegradationrelated research projects for which he acted as Lead Scientist and Study Director. Prior to The Dow Chemical Company, Dr. Van Trump was a Scientist at Geosyntec Consultants, where he helped design and implement bioremediation strategies for groundwater impacted by hydrocarbons, chlorinated ethenes, perchlorate, nitrate and metals.
