Biography
Ms. Janice Asato has considerable experience in pesticide product registration and compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. state authorities and Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA). Her current practice focuses on conventional chemical pesticide products regulated under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). Ms. Asato brings specialized expertise to the registration and compliance of conventional pesticides, from study data management and application development and submission, to product support and defense issues that are strategically managed and coordinated between regulatory authorities and clients. Her experience includes submissions to EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) Registration Division, establishment registration and annual reporting, FIFRA 6(a)(2) and TSCA 8(e) adverse effects reports and other maintenance activities, such as EPA’s Registration Review process, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements and R&D sample management compliance, and interacting with agency staff regarding product registration. Additionally, she is adept at using the National Pesticide Information Retrieval System (NPIRS). Prior to joining Technology Sciences Group Inc. (TSG), Ms. Asato was Head of Regulatory at i2L Research USA, (formerly ICR), where she oversaw pesticide registration and maintenance with the U.S. EPA, U.S. states and PMRA. In this capacity, she managed pesticide registration projects in the U.S. and Canada, ensured proper compliance with GLP, QAU and IRB requirements, acted as a liaison with regulatory authorities and provided regulatory guidance to clients
