David Canter

Biography

 Dr. David Canter is the Executive Director of the University of Michigan North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to leading the NCRC, David was Director of the Healthcare Research Initiative at the William Davidson Institute, a non-profit research and educational institute at the University of Michigan. David led the Pfizer pharmaceutical research operation in Ann Arbor as Senior Vice President of Global Research and Development after spending nearly 25 years in pharmaceutical research and leadership at Pfizer. He has served on the boards of many local and regional organizations, from the Michigan Life Sciences Corridor Committee to the University Musical Society, and is well connected to the region's business and academic community. A native of England, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. David received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University and his medical degree from the Liverpool University Medical School.
