Biography
Dr. Kevin Amidon is Associate Professor of German Studies in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at the Iowa State University, where he serves also as an affiliate member of the faculty in Women’s and Gender Studies. He studied German, economics, history, musicology, and art history in Ann Arbor, Freiburg, Princeton, Frankfurt am Main, and Berlin. He has published a wide range of articles on critical theory, gender history and theory, eugenics, race theory, evolutionary thought, the Frankfurt School, German and American history, opera, and theater. In 2015, he received the Cassling Family Faculty Award for teaching excellence from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State. Kevin received his Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literature at Princeton University in 2001.
