Biography
Dr. Sun is currently researching on the integration of urban agriculture in urbanizing China. China’s urbanization process is causing severe cropland loss. With the growing population and changing diet, China is losing the capacity to feed itself and heading towards bringing the whole world an inevitable food disaster. In order to ensure domestic food security, China should develop a new “Urban Agriculture Eco-city Model”, and release land productivity within city area. With the country’s current political policy, economic system, and agriculture development, urban agriculture is a perfect way to save China from the coming crisis.
