Biography
Dr. Amy Reckdenwald is an Assistant Professor at UCF in the department of Sociology. She received her Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Florida in 2008. Her research interests include urban violence, intimate partner homicide, domestic violence, race and gender issues, capital punishment, and sentencing. Her teaching interests include criminology, murder, domestic violence, research methods, and statistics. Her current research focuses on the influence of prior abuse on sexual homicide offending, the impact of domestic violence resources on violence and homicide offending, and the role that prior victimization plays in shaping attitudes toward punishment. Dr. Reckdenwald has published in Criminology, Feminist Criminology, Homicide Studies, and the Journal of Criminal Justice.
