David J Maume

Biography

I have long been interested in racial and gender inequality in the labor market, as well as how work and family responsibilities mutually affect each other. Most of my work involves quantitative analysis of secondary data, and my research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Instittue of Child Health and Human Development, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. My recent papers have appeared in the American Sociological Review, Social Forces, Gender & Society, and Work and Occupations. After taking my Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1983), I held a faculty position at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and joined the Unversity of Cincinnati faculty in 1986, where I am now a Professor of Sociology
