Biography
Yu-Jung “Jenny” Wei received her Ph.D. in 2012 and was subsequently appointed as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at University of Maryland Baltimore. She trained as a pharmacoepidemiologist with expertise in large-scale data analysis on medication-related issues in geriatric populations. Her research interests include medication-taking behaviors, medication prescribing quality, and the subsequent influence on patient and healthcare utilization outcomes. Wei has initiated projects focusing on nursing home residents and Medicare populations with chronic conditions, such as neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. Her recent work examines psychopharmacological medications and their comparative safety profile among dementia patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms. She has a strong interest in developing algorithms to define populations, treatments, and outcomes in claims data. As a junior researcher, she has authored a number of articles in high-impact journals, including Medical Care, Parkinsonism and Related Disorders and the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
