Research Interest
Professor Sydnor, associate professor at UIUC, has appointments in Kinesiology and Community Health; Criticism and Interpretive Theory; and Recreation, Sport and Tourism. Her area of interest is cultural and interpretive studies. She works from the tenets of the humanities to understand and critique changing ideas of health, community, and modernism, particularly as these are associated with play and ritual.
