Biography
During my residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at Tulane University School of Medicine, I found Allergy/Immunology to be a perfect specialty for me as I had a strong interest in asthma. However, during my fellowship, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) was coming to the forefront and it was clear there were large gaps in knowledge regarding this disease process. I came to the University of Maryland and was fortunate enough to receive a grant from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology which allowed us to establish a clinic for this specific patient group. We were then able to coordinate with our Pediatric Gastroenterology group to establish the first combined Allergy-GI clinic for these patients in the state of Maryland.
Research Interest
Eosinophilic esophagitis, IgE-mediated food allergy, asthma
