Biography
Dr. Lily Im is the Director of the Glaucoma Service at the University of Maryland Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She also served as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Baltimore Veterans Hospital from 2008-2014. She completed her undergraduate studies within three years and earned a BA degree with distinction and Phi Beta Kappa. She attended University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with two academic scholarships and also completed her ophthalmology residency in Pittsburgh. Her glaucoma fellowship was completed at Duke University Eye Center, one of the highest volume glaucoma services in the nation. Dr. Im has extensive experience in treating glaucoma patients, from initial diagnosis to the most complex and advanced patients. She performs all glaucoma surgeries and laser procedures, including the most cutting edge procedures known as MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery). She is also very commited to the Baltimore community and early detection of glaucoma by participating in monthly free glaucoma screenings with the Sight Savers program.
