Biography
Dr. El-Kamary is pediatrician and infectious disease epidemiologist. He has conducted research on the epidemiology of infectious diseases, particularly hepatitis infections, with a focus on hepatitis C virus (HCV) in Egypt. He has focused on the incidence, prevalence and risk factors of HCV in pregnant women and their children, and the immune responses that affect vertical transmission and persistence of infection. He also studies infectious diseases in the United States, and has conducted several vaccine and therapeutic clinical trials in the US and Egypt.
