Biography

As the Division Chief of Pediatric Nephrology, I maintain a busy inpatient and outpatient consultative practice in hypertension, kidney disease and kidney transplantation. I serve as a site PI for the NIDDK-sponsored Chronic Kidney Disease in Children (CKiD) study (U01DK66174) and the NIDDK-sponsored Doctor-Teen Communication & Antihypertensive Adherence among Teens with CKD (R01DK092919), both of which look at long term complications of chronic disease. Further, I am the site PI for the NICHD-sponsored Pediatric Trials Network with sub-studies includingPharmacokinetics of Under-studied Drugs Administered to Children per Standard of Care (HHSN- 275201000003I),Antibiotic Safety in Infants with Complicated Intra-Abdominal Infections, and a Phase 1, Open-label, Multi-center Study to Determine the Pharmacokinetics and Safety of Solithromycin as Add-on Therapy in Adolescents and Children with Suspected or Confirmed Bacterial Infection Study (the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority and Cempra Pharmaceuticals)
