Biography
Dr. Kodjebacheva is a Faculty Associate at the University of Michigan International Institute. Dr. Kodjebacheva serves on the UM - Flint IRB Committee. At the national level, Dr. Kodjebacheva is a reviewer of academic programs seeking certification from the Association of University Programs in Health Administration.Dr. Kodjebacheva is a Faculty Associate at the University of Michigan International Institute. Research Interest
Dr. Kodjebacheva's research focuses on child health in the U.S. and Europe. Dr. Kodjebacheva conducts research within the life course perspective to examine the influence of parental and early child life on long-term health. Dr. Kodjebacheva has served as the Principal Investigator of several pediatric studies. For one of the studies, she collaborated in the development and implementation of a community-based participatory intervention to promote the use of eyeglasses in one school. The intervention was subsequently adopted in several school districts. Dr. Kodjebacheva is a Co-Principal Investigator of a study to investigate adherence to medication taking among children with sickle cell disease at Hurley Medical Center. Dr. Kodjebacheva co-developed a methodology for rating the access to language and cultural services among patients. The ratings were published on governmental websites. Dr. Kodjebacheva co-authored reports for governmental agencies including the Office of the Patient Advocate and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Her publications appear in different peer-reviewed journals.
