Biography

Dr. Suzuki received her PhD in Health Education, specializing in Health Behavior and psychometric statistics, from the University of Texas at Austin.  She is a behavioral scientist and an associate professor at the University of Michigan-Flint. Prior to this position, she was the post-doctoral research fellow in the Rehabilitation Research & Training Center at the Oregon Health & Science University. 

Research Interest

She gives special attention to needs assessments, the development of theory-based health promotion programs, and program evaluation in low-income communities for women with disabilities and aging adults.  By using medical records and self-administered surveys, she currently focuses on two major areas in her research: the relationships between social activities and physiological factors in aging adults, as well as health disparities in the Medicaid or/and aged population with and without disabilities.
