Biography
Dr. Sarafianos is Professor of Molecular Microbiology & Immunolog in University of Missouri. He did his B.S. from University of Patras and Ph.D from Georgetown University. He was awarded Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Faculty Research and Creative Activity, and Chancellor's Excellence Chair in Molecular Virology in year 2013. He is interested in molecular details of how biomedically-relevant enzymes function, how they are inhibited, how they develop drug resistance and towards developing drugs that will treat human disease by novel mechanisms of action.
Research Interest
Molecular mechanisms of drug resistance and inhibition of HIV, SARS, and other viral and bacterial pathogens.
