Biography
Clinton Lanier, Ph.D., has a B.A. in philosophy and sociology from Loyola University New Orleans; an M.A. in philosophy and an M.B.A. with a marketing concentration from Texas A&M University; and a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an active member of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research and the Consumer Culture Theory Consortium. Lanier has more than 15 years of work experience at both the retail and wholesale levels. After college, he worked as a manager in his family's retail building materials business. After the business was sold, he worked as a sales representative in the millwork industry. Upon completion of his M.B.A., he worked as a retail consultant for major department stores, including Sears and Foleys. Lanier has been at St. Thomas since 2008, primarily teaching the required undergraduate Principles of Marketing (MKGT 300) and Marketing Research (MKTG 340) courses.
