Biography
Professor Gregg's research and scholarship focuses on media production, audiences, and media history. In 2017, he and his colleagues won the National Communication Association’s Charles H. Woolbert Research Award for “scholarship that has stood the test of time and has become a stimulus for new conceptualizations of communication phenomena” for their work on the parasocial contact hypothesis.Professor Gregg's webseries Forsythia was written about in the Pioneer Press and won a cinematography award at the LAweb Fest. An audio drama followup called "The Chronos Paragon" was an official selection of the National Audio Theatre Festivals' HEAR Now festival in 2015 and was a finalist for seven Audio Verse Awards, winning "Best New Original Ongoing Production." The second season of “The Chronos Paragon” was an official selection of the 2016 NATF HEAR Now festival.
