Biography
Dr. Lederle is interested in improving infrastructure through materials, design, and construction and maintenance techniques. Her past research has focused on concrete pavements and bridges, with an emphasis on practical, implementable solutions. Previous projects have included developing policy for the design of fiber reinforced polymer composites (FRP) to strengthen concrete bridge components, investigating the use of self-consolidating concrete for pre-stressed bridge girder construction, developing models to be used in the prediction of cracking in concrete pavements, testing the use of fabric interlayers in unbonded concrete overlays, and studying the reversible shrinkage behavior of concrete made with recycled concrete aggregate (RCA).
