Biography
Dr. Starr Sage is an Assistant Professor of Public Health in the Health and Human Performance Department. She earned her Doctorate (‘08) in Environmental Health and Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology (‘04) from the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. As an undergraduate student she studied biology and aspired to go to medical school, until she discovered her passion for public health!At the University of St. Thomas Dr. Sage designs and teaches public health courses. She also advises undergraduate students majoring in public health. She has taught numerous courses on public and global health issues, including a month-long global health seminar in Kenya. Her research interests focus on examining health disparities and cancer outcomes for communities of color. She also conducts interdisciplinary education research related to student development outcomes and intercultural competence.
