Biography
Dr. Michael A. Seaman is Associate Professor of Educational Research in the College of Education at the University of South Carolina, where he also served as Chair of the Department of Educational Studies. He is founder of the College of Education's Office of Program Evaluation. Dr. Seaman earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990. His writings have appeared in prominent quantitative journals in the behavioral sciences, such as Psychological Bulletin, Psychological Methods, Communications in Statistics, and Educational and Psychological Measurement. Dr. Seaman has served as program chair for the quantitative methods area of Section D of the American Educational Research Association and is a past president of the Educational Statisticians Special Interest Group. He has been principal investigator on many funded projects with funding from the National Science Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Dr. Seaman's statistical research has appeared in prominent quantitative journals in the behavioral sciences including Psychological Bulletin, Psychological Methods, Communications in Statistics, and Educational and Psychological Measurement.
